Spiralis
Spiralis is a lighting concept “revolving” around total freedom of movement and unlimited functionality achieved by three concentric, double-sided light rings that can be illuminated independently and on either side, all while maintaining unrestricted 360-degree rotation.
The electrically conductive bearing concept at the heart of Spiralis would allow each ring to spin freely while conducting electrical current from the base to the LEDs by way of steel races, separated by ceramic (non-conductive) ball bearings. However, further research into rotating electrical connections pointed to inconsistent current transmission through ball bearings, so a superior, existing alternative was discovered: rotary electrical connectors that conduct electricity not through bearings, but through liquid metal.

Controls
Three concentric, split rings on the base are the capacitive controls that allow each side of each ring to illuminate individually, simply by touching the corresponding ring.
