 Buell 1125CR Custom

The CavaNero 1125CN is a custom design based on the Rotax-powered Buell 1125CR motorbike. With only about 3,000 models to ever leave the factory between 2008 and 2010, it’s a rare gem with tons of character, unique engineering, and over 140hp/110+ lbft of torque.

The new upper fairing (below) combines the radiator shrouds and front windscreen into a single piece while relocating the electronics off of the fork assembly and onto the fairing. As a result, significant weight is removed from the steering assembly, and makes a great handling bike even nimbler. An aggressively styled DRL paired with high-output headlamp LEDs create a full and bright path in the dark.

The project began as a detailed CAD model of the original bike involving many hundreds of hours of measuring and reverse-designing surfaces, which provided a foundation from which to build and design new components and accessories. Parts of the model were also used to create small-scale replicas such as desk toys and key holders.

The primary CavaNero design elements of the 1125CN are the lower chin spoiler (left), shown here with semi-exposed carbon fiber surfaces, and the unified front fairing. The chin spoiler visually completes the lower area of the bike when aftermarket exhaust systems are installed, such as the HMF system on this particular build. The result is a profile that sits lower to the ground and looks appropriately sporty.
